The Punjabi Folklore Bhangra Academy is guided by expert coaches, teaching over a hundred enthusiastic students. Our mission is to immerse them in the vibrant Punjabi culture through lively music, traditional instruments, and folklore. Engaging in Bhangra and Giddha improves physical fitness and fosters mental resilience, discipline, and confidence. We focus on building a strong foundation by mastering basic dance steps, before progressing to complex choreography. This approach ensures students develop strong skills while appreciating and experiencing Punjab’s rich cultural heritage. Bhangra Dance
Bhangra is an energetic Punjabi folk dance blending powerful moves, rhythm, tradition, and cultural celebration.
Gidha Classes
Giddha classes celebrate Punjabi culture with graceful moves, rhythmic claps, and expressive storytelling in a joyful, energetic atmosphere.
Bollywood Dance
It combines expressive movements, vibrant choreography, and cinematic energy, blending tradition with modern styles for an electrifying experience.
Choreographies for Events

Kids- 4:30 PM- 5;30 pm (beginner/ Intermediate)
Ladies- 5:30 PM- 6:30 PM
Kids- 6:30 PM- 7:30 PM (advanced)

Our expert coaches bring passion and experience to every class, training students in Bhangra, Bollywood, and Giddha with authentic techniques, dynamic choreography, and cultural richness.
Dr. Simerjot Kaur Dhaliwal:
Dr. Simerjot Kaur Dhaliwal, a celebrated coach and owner of the Punjabi Folklore Bhangra Academy, holds a master’s degree in Classical Dance, Kathak, and a Ph.D. in Punjabi Folk Dance, Bhangra. With over nine years as a dance professor, she has won a gold medal in Folk Dance Sammi. She specializes in bhangra, sammi, luddi, gidha, Bollywood, kathak, and semi-classical dance. Her skillful choreography has led her teams to numerous first-place victories. Simerjot has also had the honor of judging esteemed competitions in both India and Canada.

I have been attending lessons with Simer since September. I initially signed up to learn Bhangra for my upcoming wedding. I absolutely love and look forward to the lessons. The group of women are wonderful, and Simer is an incredibly talented, knowledgeable and patient teacher. I look forward to the lessons each week and always leave happy and feeling like I've had a good workout. I highly recommend Simer for all abilities.
